Karen Deibel

Lucky for me, I spent the majority of my childhood enjoying the outdoors in rural Wayne County, Ohio. Both my parents came from farm families, valued education, worked hard, and believed in taking care of the land. Most of the food on our table was from our very large garden. Both parents were teachers, and I am a retired mathematics teacher. My early work life included working as a glass artist in flat glass and blown glass, vocational counseling, and construction and remodeling work. I’ve lived in Ohio all my life except for an 11-year period in coastal North Carolina living along the beautiful Shallotte River. I lived 12 years in Mad River Township. My favorite outdoor activity is hiking where I can enjoy the peace and splendor of the natural landscape. I believe protecting the natural environment is critical for our survival. Our precious water resources are being squandered. My work with CAM allows me the opportunity to join others in an attempt to prevent the potential destruction of our community.
